Words for today are…..Terrorism and Circus.
Seriously, whats the chances of getting these words together. I have a million and one ideas already, but I know I am definitely going to stay on the computer today. Vector all day long!!!!!
There are a number of angles I could take with the words today. I’m imagining either animals being treated really badly by scary looking circus folk……or….a circus where people dressed in bondage type gear are being torcherd….or evil clowns creating havoc!!! Hmmmm……I need to go think for a while!
Have my idea and am starting to illustrate. Its gonna be a weird one!!
My idea is an evil clown handing out a ticket to a freaky circus. In the background there will be a circus tent, and beside that there will be a row of women dressed in only in bondage gear hanging from a pole or some sort of something.
Now am gonna listen to some nirvana, drink some tea and get lost in illustrating!!!
Still illustrating! So far…..
This is a very different picture to anything I have ever done before……
Progress so far…
The clown has changed a bit. Have decided to stick with the redish kinda colours! Am trying to put a ticket in his hand….I so hate drawing hands!!!
Gotta do some more girls in bondage then am moving onto the background. I reckon I could put shadows of trees fading off into the distance….kinda like showing that this circus is well hidden!!
So….I have to go now and see my kids before bed. I’m onto backgrounds so it shouldn’t take much longer….i hope!!! Need to think about the background for a little while…I wanted to add trees and stuff but I feel it may take over the image and take from the more important elements such as the clown and the women!!!
Am gonna be kicked out of college in five minutes. So am going home to finish up, only silly things left like shading and stuff, but am almost there!
This project was interesting. The words I chose today were so random; I knew straight away I would like to create some mad image! The idea of drawing animals getting treated badly at the circus seemed to be too obvious, it happens all the time….but somebody needed to be getting terrorised somehow! The idea of having terrorists with weapons at a circus seemed a bit to literal as well.
I started to think about terrorists and what kind of people they would be…which led to the decision to use the woman. I thought about how terrorists would treat women, and I’m guessing they treat them badly…almost like animals….and so I reckoned I may as well tie them up in bondage and hang them from a bar! The clown represents a terrorist…hes handing out a ticket to enter the circus. I’m imagining when people look at this image they will have different ideas of what goes on inside those tents in the background!!!
The more I drew the more I thought about the actual scene I was creating. I decided to surround the background with trees because I was thinking that this is such a horrible place that it would have to be somewhere secluded. I then added the fence, because I thought not just anybody can come here…you need a ticket to get in!!!
And that’s it!
Afterthoughts: A better day than yesterday!
oh…something funny happened today…Kevin reckoned the clown looks like him….so we printed it out and tried to do a face swap…but the light was bad. Will try again tomorrow!
Check out Kev and his twin…
What will tomorrow bring???
